Welcome to Beckenham Soroptimists

The Beckenham & District club is a lively group combining the enjoyment of friendship and social gatherings with fund raising and our programme action activities. The club was founded 59 years ago; Croydon Club is our ‘mother club’ and we retain close links. Whilst the majority of our members live in the London Borough of Bromley we welcome women working in the area or living in other areas.

Meetings are held in the Beckenham Methodist Church on the first and third Mondays of each month except August. We welcome visitors to our speaker meetings so we can share the expertise of our speakers and the refreshments afterwards. Please see our programme page for more details. Members also meet together in smaller groups according to their interests- for example a book group, two Mah Jong groups and a growing walkers’ group.

We support local, national and international charities and projects through fundraising and by giving individual and group service. See the Projects page for more details.

OurĀ  President for 2011/2012 is Susan Lee

Susan’s choice of charity to support this year is the local Bromley & district branch of Parkinson’s UK. We aim to raise funds to help with the establishment of a new pop in service in Orpington to complement the services the Branch provides in Bromley, Biggin Hill and Beckenham.
