SI Bingley welcomed members of SI Harrogate to a social evening on October 25th 2016 at Eldwick Village Hall. Pat and Judith from SI Harrogate spoke about the creation of their beautiful Meru Garden which won a Silver award at the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show in September.
Members SI Keighley, Skipton and Bradford joined us for the evening which included a presentation about Kenya and the Meru Project, a quiz, raffle and champagne tombola. We also had tastings of Githeri, a typical Kenyan staple food made from corn, cornmeal and beans, delicious tropical fruits and jams and chutneys imported from Kenya which are made from produce grown by women accessing the Meru project.
