SI Blackburn was proud to be joint winners of the Haslingden Trophy awarded at the Regional Lunch in June 2011.

The trophy, donated in 2004, is presented annually to the club in the North West England and the Isle of Man Region which has recruited and retained the most members in a particular year.

SI Blackburn shares the honour with SI Preston, both clubs having recruited 3 new members in 2007 who are still members in 2011.

The meeting on 6th September was graced by the Ghawazee Arabic Dance Troupe, whose fantastic costumes, exciting music and interesting commentary enthralled our members and guests. Even better, led by President Angie Christopher, a number of the audience ‘had a go’! When all our bits had come to rest, we enjoyed a much-needed buffet.
