International Day of Peace
Blackburn Soroptimists marked the International Day of Peace, September 21st by writing and sending Peace cards to people who are involved in peacemaking or who are the victims of

a non-peaceful environment.Cards were sent to all the local MPs in whose constituencies Blackburn Soroptimists live, to the 3 MPs who co-founded the Ministry of Peace. Simon Hughes, John McDonnell and Gary Streeter and to individuals suggested by Anmesty International.
Other people to receive our good wishes included local charitable groups such as THOMAS, ARC, Humraaz , the club’s Friendship Links in other countries and Dr. Sima Sumar, the Nobel Peace Prize Nominee in Afghanistan.
