Soroptimist International - Bradford

Soroptimist International of Bradford is part of a worldwide organisation of women, which is linked to the United Nations.

SI Bradford was formed in 1928 – probably one of the first groups in Yorkshire – and meetings take place at The Great Victoria Hotel, Bridge Street, Bradford BD1 1JX . Meetings start at 18.30 hours and are on the first and third Tuesday of each month plus other occasional meetings and social events.  Members are also invited to join social events arranged by other local SI groups as well as regional, national and international conferences.

SI Bradford operates as a flexible managed Club, which is a new initiative within Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland and we are proud to have become one of the first clubs to do this.

Soroptimist International is a vibrant, dynamic worldwide organisation for todays women. We are committed to a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong and peaceful communities world wide.

There are over 90,000 members in more than 3,000 clubs in 126 countries and territories.

Soroptimist Values.

  1. Human Rights for all
  2. Global Peace and International goodwill
  3. Advancing women’s potential
  4. Integrity and democratic decision making
  5. Volunteering, diversity and friendship

Please consider joining us. Why? Perhaps you feel that your circle of friends is too insular and you would like to meet women from different walks of life. Or maybe you find that, although you enjoy your job, it demands so much of your energy that you are becoming very single-tracked.

It could be that you are aware your knowledge on human rights issues is scanty. But how do you really address the sex trade, child labour and the status of women single-handedly?

Soroptimist International could be the answer. It is about women working together for others, but also for themselves.  Please contact us via the Contact Us page on this site.
