Welcome to SI Burnley

Hello and welcome to the website of our club, Soroptimist International of Burnley.

Who exactly are the Soroptimists?

Soroptimist International is the world’s largest women’s service organisation with Consultative status at the United nations. For more information visit our “Who are we?” page.

Soroptimist International of Burnley was founded in 1943 and has given nearly 75 years of service to our community and beyond. We are a group of like-minded women, united by their passion for improving the lives of women and children locally, nationally and internationally.

Our Club

We meet at the Belvedere and Caldervale Rugby Club on Holden Road in Burnley on the first and third Tuesday of every month.

On the first Tuesday we usually have a guest speaker and guests or prospective new members are more than welcome. The third Tuesday of the month is the main business meeting for the club though we sometimes also have speakers. We also have a busy programme of fund-raisers; social events; conferences/meetings and programme action initiatives – see other areas of this site.

If you would like to learn more about our organisation – and may be interested in joining us- why not come along and meet everyone, you would be made very welcome.
