Partner Organisations

The Club continues to actively support other organisations -

CamFed – this is a charity founded by a Cambridge woman to promote Female Education and to eradicate poverty in Africa through the education of girls and the empowerment of young women. Camfed programs operate in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana, Tanzania and Malawi.

Cam Mind – a local charity supporting mental health sufferers in Cambridgeshire one-to-one befriending, clubs and activities, sheltered housing. The Club has fundraised for specific items and regularly “tin-shakes” for them.

UNICEF - The Club supports the work of UNICEF, for example raising money for their ‘School-in-a-Box’ kits which UNICEF use to enable youngsters to resume their education in the wake of natural disasters. One year the Club decided that the surplus from their Christmas party, donations in lieu of postage and the raffle raised enough to provide three “school in a box”. We hoped that we would raise sufficient money to pay for one box so three was a real bonus!
