£350.00 was the wonderful amount raised at a recent coffee morning held by SI Cannock & District. Around 40 people gathered at the home of one of the club members to raise funds for Edward’s Trust, a local / regional charity offering support to anyone affected by the death of a child.
They drank coffee and tea, ate cakes and biscuits baked by members of Cannock Soroptimists, brought items to sell – and bought others to take home! Many there took the opportunity to have their jewellery professionally cleaned and so raise more funds for the Trust. Club members provided raffle prizes and everyone was very generous in their buying, particularly after they had heard a little from Jeremy Walker, a Director of Edward’s Trust, who joined them for the morning. Edward’s Trust now has a dedicated team offering support to families: they have pioneered a holistic approach to this difficult issue, offering a comprehensive service which looks at the emotional and physical needs of each family member.
Jeremy made himself very popular with everyone by not only serving the coffee, but doing the washing up as well!
President Ronnie Reynolds thanked everyone for attending and for being so generous in every way.
