SI Cannock helping our community

Cannock Centre Lottery for March 2011 was sold by one of their members whilst promoting the lottery in the Shopping Centre on their Saturday of Service at the beginning of March.

In fact, the ticket was one of the first sold by Soroptimist Pat Preece and was bought by Mrs Jean Dennison.

Cannock Soroptimists were thrilled to learn that the winning ticket in the Cannock Town Mrs Dennison was presented with a cheque for £283.00 by Shopping Centre Manager Natal Chapman. This was half of the money raised by the March lottery; the remainder, except for 5% administration costs, will go towards funding town centre events such as the Carnival to be held in July of this year.

Soroptimists, along with Cannock Lions and Cannock Rotarians, are supporting the lottery again this month, their details appear on the back of the lottery tickets along with information of three of the groups they all support locally: Special Needs Adventure Playground; Pathway, the refuge for women victims of domestic violence and their children; and Young Carers.

Members of the Soroptimist and Lions clubs will be selling tickets in the Shopping Centre on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout the month of April and they are hoping that even more tickets will be sold this month!
