3 members of SI Cannock &
District were recently presented with long service certificates. At the AGM, out-going President Ronnie
Reynolds was pleased to present a certificate for 20 years of service to
Soroptimist International to Lilian Hyde, for 25 years to Betty Howard-Evans
and for 40 years of service to Barbara Cooper.
All three members were delighted to receive their awards.
Towards the end of the meeting,
President Ronnie passed the chain of office to new President Eileen Cryer. Eileen is Finance Officer for local company
Aura Training. She has been a member of
the Cannock Soroptimist club for 7 years and has held the post of treasurer as
well as serving on the executive council and on programme action groups. She told the members how pleased she was to
be nominated as their President for 2011 – 2012 and promised them an
interesting year, with many exciting events and speakers already booked. Her theme for the year is “Together our hopes
can be achieved” and she has chosen St Giles Hospice and the Air Ambulance to
benefit from some of the club’s fund-raising efforts during the year.
