A Greeting from President Dorothy

Thank you for visiting our website and a special welcome to newcomers to Soroptimism.

Soroptimist International of Cheltenham and District is a friendly club whose members are always happy to welcome visitors and possible new members to Speaker Meetings and social events.

As a service club we are particularly interested in ways in which we can help women and young people in our community. I am delighted that this year the Club has chosen St Vincent’s as its charity, as we have had links with this local charity in the past. As members of a world-wide organisation we are also able to extend our support into many parts of the developing world through a number of Soroptimist Projects.

We enjoy the opportunity to meet and socialise with other clubs and appreciate the friendships formed by these contacts.  Each year Soroptimist International of Great Britain & Ireland (SIGBI) meets in Conference to review activities and achievements of the past year and plan for the future and this also provides an opportunity to renew friendships with Soroptimists from other Clubs. Eight members attended last year’s Manchester Conference and this year, again,  a number of members will be attending the conference in Brighton.
