Cheltenham SI club have added our contribution to the Centenary Tree Planting campaign with a collaboration with one of our favourite and long standing charities – the Butterfly Garden. The Butterfly Garden is the brainchild of Chris Evans, owner of family business, Dundry Nurseries in Cheltenham.  The Butterfly garden supports 70 plus adults with special needs – both physical and educational – and provides opportunities for activities, social integration and development. There is a Nature Reserve being developed as part of the nursery , alongside a public footpath, and this gives access for everybody,  wheelchair users or fully mobile, to enjoy a beautiful area and get close to nature. After quite a difficult time for procuring trees, Chris came up trumps and found us a Liquidamber, found the perfect position and even dug the hole for our 12 foot beauty.  We arranged to go and

Cheltenham Club go to Cirencester Club President’s lunch

Five Cheltenham SI members were able to go to the President’s Lunch; held by Cirencester SI as part of their Friendship Weekend. We enjoyed a very pleasant meal along with fellow Soroptimists from Latvia and Bury. The theme adopted by President Pat for her year of office is “Roman” and we had an interesting and informative talk on a “Day in the Life of a Roman” based on the probable lifestyle of the wealthy occupant of Chedworth Roman Villa.
