Regional Projects in support of Project SIerra

2011

 This year the ‘Scenic SIerra Calendar’  was designed, using photographs taken by Soroptimists on one of the Study Tours to visit Project SIerra.   Sales of the calendar have raised over £1000.00.

2008 – 09

In November 2009 a Regional Concert – Singing for SIerra – was held in the Civic Hall in Ellesmere Port.

Entertainment was from the Cheshire Chord Company, an award winning local, all female, A Capella show chorus and Welsh Harp student, Elfair Dyer.

Star prize in the raffle was another handmade quilt by Dr Barbara Dixon of SI Anglesey.  The quilt was made from material designed by some of the Young Mothers on the Project in Sierra Leone.

 The concert raised the grand sum of £2522.00 for Project SIerra.

Honorary member, the late Enid Roberts, from SI South Caernarfon, designed this beautiful Peace Garden, which was raffled at the Regional AGM in June, along with a handmade quilt by Dr Barbara Dixon from SI Anglesey.  £1,714.00 was raised for the project.

2007 – 08

Julie Jones and Marian Jones of SI Bangor designed some notelets featuring wild flowers and views of local scenery.  The sale of these notelets raised over £1000.00 during the first year of the project.
