About our club
Soroptimist International is a worldwide organisation for women who wish to work to transform the lives of women and girls worldwide.
The Bury club was chartered in 1943. It is a daughter club of S.I. Bolton.
We are a very friendly club with about 35 members from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some of our members play a leading role in organisations, others do voluntary work in the community. We warmly welcome prospective new members.
We meet twice a month on the first and third Wednesday evenings, at Bury Unitarian Church, 1 Bank Street, Bury, BL90DN. One meeting is usually a club meeting where we discuss business and future projects and the other is either a speaker evening to raise awareness or a social evening which may raise money for local and international projects whilst enjoying friendship and fun.
