Soroptimists Swing!

Keyboard player David Newberry got the evening going with toe-tapping tunes to set the party atmosphere. Later, after a splendid buffet, vocalist David Carter kept the packed house entertained with singalong favourites and some smooth standards.

Maggie Tatam, President of SI Crosby said, “Through ticket sales and a well-stocked raffle the event has raised several hundred pounds for local charities. My fundraising team, led by Annette and Linda, worked very hard to pull everything together. Club members sold tickets and organised publicity; and, as usual, we had support from our friends in Rotary and Lions.

“I must say a big thank you to the ‘Pioneer’ for generously providing the excellent venue and catering, and for looking after us so well. The Swing Night was a great success.”
