Once again, Crosby’s Soroptimists were among the crowds who attended the Civic Service on Remembrance Sunday in Waterloo. At the ‘Five Lamps’ War Memorial, President Maggie Tatam laid a wreath on behalf of the club.
“Soroptimist International of Crosby was founded as World War II was looming,” she said. “Consequently the club’s early activities were related to the war effort – helping servicemen billeted locally, supporting air raid victims and providing parcels for prisoners of war. I feel proud to have taken part in this very special service of remembrance that honours all victims of war.”
