Another Soroptimist barbecue – another day of relentless rain. However, SI Crosby members were undaunted as they welcomed families and friends to a fundraising event. Marshalled by Chair of Fundraising, Linda Glenn and her husband Martin, everyone entered into the spirit of the event. They enjoyed live music, excellent catering, a tempting raffle – and even (for some brave souls) a dip in the swimming pool.
The barbecue raised £1,230 for the Mr Nelson Alphonso’s cardiac research team at Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool. Sandy Taylor, President of Crosby’s Soroptimists said, “Linda and our members put a huge amount of time and effort into organising this event. Thank you to them – and to the many Soroptimisters who helped, as well. Mr Alphonso’s expertise is very special to me and my family; so I know that all financial support for his team’s ongoing research is really worthwhile.”
