Sefton Women’s and Children’s Aid
S I Crosby is a longstanding supporter of Sefton Women’s and Children’s Aid (SWACA).
For many years the club has had a representative on the Board, and thus had the opportunity to contribute towards the charity’s progress. The club also regularly donates money towards SWACA’s projects and has, for example, funded the refurbishment of the garden at the education centre.
In recent years Crosby’s Soroptimists have supported the “Leap Frog”, ”SWACA Quacker” and “GR8 2B Me” appeals. Members are currently putting together packs of basic toiletries, nightwear, underwear and educational items for young people who have to leave home in a hurry.
Proceeds from the club’s “Baggatelles” project are destined for SWACA.
SWACA provides free and confidential support for all women and children experiencing domestic violence. Its services include a helpline, one-to-one support, solicitors’ surgeries, welfare/benefits advice, group work, a refuge and awareness training.
SI Crosby is proud to maintain its connections with SWACA.
