About our Club

Soroptimist International of Crosby is part of a worldwide organisation. Soroptimists are women with experience in management, professions or other positions of responsibility. Together we work through service projects, fundraising and advocacy to advance human rights and the status of women.
Our members cover a wide range of expertise and interests. Many play a leading role in local businesses and organisations – and others may have retired from the ‘day job’ but now work in the community on a voluntary basis. This diversity strengthens our club’s capacity for effective action and networking. We are ‘women with a social conscience’, aiming to make a difference to the lives of women and girls. Plus – we have a lot of fun in the process.
Our club was chartered in 1938 as a ‘daughter’ club of S.I. Liverpool. As well as in Crosby itself, our members live in Thornton, Ainsdale, Waterloo, Hightown, Litherland, Formby, Birkdale, Netherton and Maghull. Currently we have nearly forty members, and we are actively seeking to expand.
Business meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at West Lancashire Golf Club.
Browse through our website – if you like what you see, and would like to know more, just get in touch. We’ll welcome your enquiry in the customary Soroptimist way – in friendship.
