Woman of the Year Award

Crosby’s Soroptimists search annually for their Woman of the Year. The award highlights the important contribution made by so many women here in our own community.

We aim to reward the special efforts of women by drawing attention to what they do, and by giving one very special person the Margaret Yarwood Woman of the Year Award.

The award is named after the late Margaret Yarwood, a much loved former club member. Margaret was well known locally for her work in championing the cause of patients in the health service.

Sandy Taylor, President of SI Crosby (2011-12) said: “We know that women in our community are doing great things but often without recognition, so we hope to highlight their efforts and the benefits they bring to others. We invited the public in Crosby and district to help us find these inspirational but often unsung heroines. Judging was difficult – but we are delighted to have made an award in March 2012.”
