About our Club
Meetings: Club meetings are held on the second Wednesday evening of the month at members homes. On the last Wednesday of the month we meet at The National Hotel in Dingwall. Meetings start at 6.30 p.m. when we have a speaker and is preceded by a two course supper. During January and February we have our speaker meetings on Saturday lunchtime at 12.30 p.m. We also hold additional events during the year including other social events.
Programme Action:
Our President’s chosen charity this year is Mary’s Meals. Mary’s Meals is a global movement that sets up school feeding projects in some of the world’s poorest communities, where hunger and poverty prevent children from gaining an education.
We will be arranging a number of events in support of this very worthy charity.
We also support a number of local causes, for example:
County Hospital, Invergordon – where we have completely revitalised the Courtyard garden so that the patients can enjoy a peaceful place to sit and relax. Our members will be continuing to maintain this garden on behalf of the hospital and patients.
Tools for Africa – our members collect old and unwanted tools which are then passed on so that they can be refurbished and sent to Africa to be used.
Annually our members hold an event in aid of Book Aid International, we have stalls and raise funds for the RNLI in Invergordon and the Feil Maree in Dingwall and these are just some of the causes that we support.
Friendship Links: the club has links with Ashton under Lyne, Richmond and Dales, Yorkshire, Oslo, La Jolla, California
