About our Club

Hello!

At the beginning of 2010 we wrote – ‘Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that we have indeed made a difference to people’s lives.  This year will, we hope, leave a legacy of change’.  With the successes of the Trafficking Conference already recognised, we know that we are well on the way to achieving our goal and that in 2011/12 we will see some really positive outcomes from the Conference alongside other meaningful initiatives.

With new members wanting to join us to become more proactive in the local community and globally, SI Epsom & District is full of new energy and enthusiasm.  This is the future of Soroptimism.

The Club meets every 3rd Monday in the month at 7.00 for 7.30 pm at The Studio, Bourne Hall, Spring Street, Ewell KT17 IUF.  After a few minutes for a chance to chat and catch up with one another’s news, our evening usually starts off with a talk by a visiting speaker. The second part of meeting is taken up with business matters.

There is always plenty on the agenda - Regional news, projects highlighted by the Programme Action Team, Fundraising and Social Events for our club and others in our region. Overseas links are very important to us.  We have sister clubs in France, Denmark, Australia, Japan and the Ukraine and club members enjoy hearing about their projects.  We are always delighted to welcome prospective members and guests.

Between meetings, social events keep us busy and provide a welcome boost to our fundraising activities.  Involvement in serious activities or the more frivolous, ensures that membership of the Epsom & District Club is thoroughly worthwhile.
