About our Club

Hello!

Soroptimist International of Epsom and District covers a large area, which includes the London Borough of Sutton, Epsom and Ewell and Mole Valley.  As our programme shows, we are interested in a wide range of  issues concerning women and girls and their families, locally and internationally.  We support initiatives across our ‘patch’, as well as helping projects further afield.  This year, our President Sally Curtis will be promoting the work of ‘Positive Women’ in Swaziland and closer to home, members will be raising funds for our new Young Carers’ project – ‘My Time’.

With new members joining  us, wanting to become more proactive in the local community and globally, SI Epsom & District is full of energy and enthusiasm.  This is the future of Soroptimism.

The Club meets every 3rd Monday in the month at 7.00 for 7.30 pm at The Studio, Bourne Hall, Spring Street, Ewell KT17 IUF.  After a few minutes for a chance to chat and catch up with one another’s news, our evening usually starts off with a talk by a visiting speaker. The second part of meeting is taken up with business matters.

There is always plenty on the agenda - Regional news, projects highlighted by the Programme Action Team, Fundraising and Social Events for our club and others in our region. Overseas links are very important to us.  We have sister clubs in France, Denmark, Australia, Japan and the Ukraine and club members enjoy hearing about their projects.  We are always delighted to welcome prospective members and guests.

Between meetings, social events keep us busy and provide a welcome boost to our fundraising activities.  Involvement in serious activities or the more frivolous, ensures that membership of the Epsom & District Club is thoroughly worthwhile.
