The club held a Barbecue in Pam Simcock’s garden again this year – which remains a popular tradition within the club. There were over 80 people attending, to enjoy the surroundings, the sunshine, the food and the friendship.
It was also an important date for one of the founding members of the club, Vi Maunder, who celebrated her 90th birthday on that day. A bunch of flowers and a birthday cake were presented to her, from the club. She’s pictured above about to cut the cake.
A raffle was held which raised £255. All funds from this event were in support of the club President’s chosen charity this year, Macmillan Nurses. Overall the event raised a grand total of £907.
