Tips on telling women how to look their best were on the menu at the club’s monthly supper/speaker meeting.
Miriam King, a stylist and make-up artist with Butterflies Image Consultancy, pictured with president elect Margaret Smith, said:
“Image is very important in this day and age.
“And when you know you look your best it can be a big boost to your self confidence.”
She said a new look could be a significant help at many times in life, for example when starting a new job or after having a baby.
Describing how she could help to develop and transform a client’s personal style she
revealed a few tricks of the trade once someone’s body shape had been defined.
“You can accentuate the parts of your body that you like and camouflage those that you don’t.”
Cropped trousers could make someone appear shorter while matching your shoe colour to your hemline could help to make you look taller.
Even a person’s personality would be taken into account and anyone could wear any colour. “It just depends on the shade,” she said.
Christine White thanked her for an interesting talk.
