President hands over £1,600

Lisa Murphy, fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, right, receives a cheque for £1,600 from club president Rosemary Coward. The money was raised through a variety of events including a quiz evening and a coffee morning and Macmillan was chosen by the president as one of the charities to benefit from funds raised during her year of office.

Lisa thanked the club for the donation and pointed out that the charity had awarded an average grant of £300 each to a total of 418 people in Hampshire last year, 32 of those were in the Fareham area. The grants help patients with expenses such as travel to and from hospital and parking charges.
