Over 100 members and guests enjoyed an evening at the Netherwood Hotel with wine and canapes before an amusing and interesting talk by Val Armstrong from Radio Cumbria.
Val recounted humorous stories from her broadcasting career and also shared her experience of breast cancer. £1,200 was raised on the evening for the charity Breast Cancer Care. Many thanks to those who attended and helped us raise this amazing amount for Val’s nominated charity.
Guests had a chance to browse stalls making purchases and finding out about Soroptimism . Cath Holland a local midwife also attended with a stall outlining her work to eradicate FGM in Kenya.
