Message in a Bottle
Message in a bottle scheme and I.C.E
The Health group of SI Grange have handed out 150 “Message in a bottle” containers and ICE flyers in Grange and the surrounding area. Both ideas are to highlight improved information in an emergency. The ICE scheme flyers informed the public of the practice of putting an emergency contact number in your mobile phone under the name ICE ( In Case of emergency) so that Emergency services can contact your next of kin without having to scroll through multiple names. Posters are also going up in schools and other public areas.
The containers were purchased from the Lions organisation and improve health information available to Paramedics and other Health professionals in an emergency and particularly useful for those who live alone. The container is kept in your fridge containing information about medication and Medical history etc and Paramedics and other staff are alerted to its presence by a green cross on your window and / or fridge
