Jude Faulkner, herself diagnosed with breast cancer, gives us an insight into  the past 100years of achievements and services of  Macmillan Cancer Support and the experiences of some of those helped by the organisation.

 The Alkers raise money for children in Dukem.

 The talk will include details of the Konzo tribe and their terraced hillsides, the Dorze and their colourful weaving and the Mursie women with their lip-plates.

This Organisation, based in Huddersfield, offers free advice and support for women in various ways, including debt-management, emotional health, housing, immigration, confidence training and more.

. “Women making a       Difference”    7.00 pm for 7.30 pm

Our Keynote Speaker is  Ann Hough. Operations Director and Club Secretary  of Huddersfield Town Football Club.

  Margaret Cook will speak on Soroptimist Programme Action. She took office in the Region then UKPAC and became the first Federation Programme Director for  SIGBI. This lead her on to become the International Assistant Programme Director for 2007 – 2011 of SI Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

5th         Flower Arrangements. Fundraiser.

 Barbara Wetton teaches flower arranging at U3A and is in charge of the flowers at St Martin’s Church, Brighouse. There’s a chance to make an arrangement to take away. Fundraiser.

26th      Meg Willard. “Trek to Everest Base        Camp”.

Meg recently climbed to Everest base camp with a charitable organisation, raising money for Kirkwood hospice.. She will illustrate the talk with photographs from her trek.
