President’s message
After beginning as a professional women’s movement in the US in the 1920’s Soroptimists are now an international organisation with over 90,000 members. Our aim is to advance the status and rights of women through advocacy, awareness and action. At a local club level this is driven by what we call “Programme Action”
But there is so much more to us than campaigning and fundraising. Club membership deepens your involvement with your community, widens your circle of friends and even offers the chance to extend your professional skills. You can have fun and feel a sense of achievement.
So if you’re interested why not come along to some of our meetings? Visitors are always welcome and there’s no pressure to join if you decide Soroptimism isn’t for you. *
To get a taste of what we’ll be doing this year take a look at our diary of events.
I look forward to meeting you.
Anne-Mary Inglehearn (President 2011 – 2012)
*If you would like to come to a meeting please drop us a line via the “Contact us” page so that we can make sure someone is ready to welcome you.
