President Gwen’s Message 2011-2012

I became a member of S I Inverness and Nairn in 2007 and now am very privileged to be President of the club for 2011/12.

Our club is quite small with 17 members at present, a mixture of longstanding Soroptimists and some newer members. There is a wealth of skills across our club, through many diverse occupations. We all have lots we can contribute to the future.

As President I hope to be able to play a pivotal role in the future developments of the club, seeing it grow and move forward, embracing the challenges ahead.

In the year to come we have a varied programme of speakers, fundraising and programme action events to work on, as well as social occasions.

My Charities this year are Children 1st and Women’s Aid. Supporting these charities embraces the Soroptimist theme of improving the future of Women and Children Worldwide.

My background is in Health, having worked in both the NHS and the Private sector covering the whole spectre of life. My present role is in the diagnostic field of medicine.

We would like to hear from women in the Inverness and Nairn area who would like to join us in making a difference to the lives of women and children locally, nationally and internationally. It is so rewarding to see the differences we can achieve LARGE and SMALL.
