About our Club

Welcome to our Club site. The city of Kingston upon Hull nestles near the east coast and on the north bank of the River Humber in the East Riding of Yorkshire. A fresh and bracing part of the country. Perhaps it’s the good air that maintains our member’s love of life and vitality.
Chartered in 1923, the Kingston upon Hull Branch of Soroptimist International have been an active body for many years, with a membership that has proven commitment to promoting the principals of Soroptimisim.
In the past membership of the local Branch was carefully managed with a limited opportunity to join one of the oldest women’s groups in Hull. This process is changing as we recognise the value of individual skills. The agenda is too important and we need to build our ‘army’. We aim to bring in as many people as possible that support the ideals of Soropitisim, with new ideas with purpose to help others less fortunate.
Our meetings are normally held on the last Wednesday of the month, at The Village Hotel, Henry Boot Way, Priory Park, Hessle, HU4 7DY, 7:30 pm. The nature of the meetings vary. Some weeks we may have a speaker. Another occasion we may plan, discuss and debate our projects. Meetings are usually stimulating – never boring, and they do allow members that valuable ‘time out’.
We welcome women who like to participate in helping to improve the lives of women and children at home and throughout the World, and to promote human rights for all. We meet monthly (and sometimes more often) to make a difference, share interests, companionship, gain knowledge, and have fun.
