President’s Message
Welcome to these web pages for Leamington and Warwick.
Our Club was started in 1936 and is still very active with 30 members. Professions include teachers, lawyers, health workers, IT specialists and business managers, as well as those working in the voluntary sector.
We meet once a month on a Tuesday at 6.30 for 6.45pm at the Episode Hotel, 64 Upper Holly Walk in Leamington. This includes dinner and either a speaker or a programme action discussion.
We get involved in service projects both locally and internationally. This includes the Young Carers, Old People’s Home tea party, Hospital escorts and Leamington Station garden.
This year our Club’s charity is ‘Steph and Geoff’, a Christian Mission nightly ‘soup kitchen’ in Leamington for the homeless They also supply food and clothing and help people find homes and assist with paperwork
We have contributed to sending manual sewing machines and sewing materials to Bo in Sierra Leone and are corresponding with local women there. We also have active friendship links with Clubs in Apeldoorn, Cologne, Birkerod and elsewhere.
We also do fund raising – our major annual event is the Swimathon which is held in October each year. This raises money for nominated charities, this year they are Myton Hospice and the Northamptonshire and Warwickshire Air Ambulance. The Swimathon will be on Sunday 16th October 2011. To date the Swimathon has raised well over £110,000.

We are a very active and happy community and would be pleased to hear from anyone interested in learning more about our Club and who might wish to attend our monthly meeting. Please use contact button to email us.
