Current projects

We are involved with a number of projects locally helping to raise funds and give service to a variety of locally based charities and organisations. One of our main undertakings for 2011 is to give educational support and sponsorship to Preeti Gamit who is living in the interior village of Vyara taluka, India .  She is undertaking primary teacher’s training course and she is in her second year.  She doesn’t have a father only her mother and two siblings brother/sister. We hope to follow her progress throughout the rest of her training and establish regular communication with her. We also continue to support Consulata Kangai Mugambi and her community in Kenya.

We are also committed to maintaining our links with:

• CLASP (the Leicester Carers Organisation) – There is a Soroptimist on the Board of Trustees and a Soroptimist on the Fund Raising Committee. CLASP was one of the organisations, Save the Children being the other, for whom we raised funds at Celebratory Luncheon held in October.
• Rainbows Children’s Hospice.
• Leicester City of Sanctuary
