Forced Marriage, Jaswinder Sanghera

An issue of great importance that needs your urgent action.   We have been working with SI Bilston to formulate a draft response to an online Home Office consultation document.  The consultation is about whether Forced Marriage should become a CRIMINAL offence.    Responses to the consultation need to be individual and we are urging all members to respond.  We will send you the response we have prepared – you can use that or one of your own – the most important thing is that many, many responses are received by the closing date in early March.  The Karma Nirvana website directs you to the right pages for your response.

We have alerted Federation Team including UKPAC chair who is sending information to all Region PAC members.  This is a current issue for women and girls – if successful, Soroptimists will have achieved legislative change to protect those who are vulnerable.
