The Year Ahead

Our programme for 2012-2013 is built around the three E’s – educate, empower and enable – and our speakers will address this from a number of standpoints.  We have some excellent speakers on a variety of subjects: our main charity Dove Cottage, Mercy Ships – providing free medical, engineering and agricultural help to the poorest countries, STEPS – supporting children and adults affected by a lower limb condition, Intercare – medical aid for Africa, Women’s International League for Peace & Freedom – the oldest womens’ peace organisation in the world, the headteacher from a local inner city school, the local Girl Guides Group and a visit by our MP Nicky Morgan. 

We will be continuing our work in the local community and at the international level we are raising funds for the Maternal & Childhealth Advocacy International. MCAI is a charity dedicated to saving the lives of seriously ill pregnant women, children and babies in countries where there is extreme poverty. 

We will enjoy ourselves at social and fundraising events with a film show, Picnic in the Park, a fashion show, visit to Kilworth Hall theatre, Desert Island Discs, summer garden party, bonfire night party and Christmas Fair.
