Soroptimist Day of Action – 15 July 2017

SIGBI day of Action

Saturday 15th July 2017 is the Soroptimist International Great Britain & Ireland (SIGBI) Day of Action.

This year many Clubs will be raising money for the Meru Women’s Garden Project, our three year partnership with child.org to educate, empower and enable women in Meru to become self-sufficient.

Some Clubs are planning tea parties this year but there is no definite theme – please do what is best for you to ensure a fun and successful event.

Whatever fundraising event you’re planning please send pictures to lisa@sigbi.org for inclusion on the website and social media pages.

Meru Women’s Garden Project

Read about how much the training means to four women in Meru on the Meru Women website – they can now provide for their families and fund their children’s (and in one case their grandchildren’s) education.

An update on the project has also been posted by Martina Gant of child.org who recently met with Margaret Ikiara, CIFORD’s Founder and Director, to work on Programme Plans for the year ahead.
