Conference Theme
“Teamwork” is the theme for this year’s conference. At this conference we aim to foster the spirit of “Teamwork” by encouraging working, not only with members of our
clubs, but also by having joint events with neighbouring clubs and even neighbouring regions.
The idea is not new, many clubs and regions already do this. This 75th Joint Regional Conference is a good example of our working together; the need to expand the concept becomes more pressing as membership of
many of our well known and well established clubs is reducing.
Our Federation is initiating the teamwork concept by partnership with WAGGGS (World Federation of Girl Guides & Girl Scouts) enabling both organisations to promote the welfare of women and girls.
The conference brings together speakers who with their ideas, ideals and experiences will hopefully inspire us all towards more “Teamwork”, whilst maintaining a light-hearted balance to ensure you all enjoy the day.
There will be an opportunity to question speakers and express your own views at the end of the morning and afternoon. Our Conference Chair, Dorothy Lee, SI Southport, will ably handle the question and answers sessions.
Venue
Our chosen venue is the Crowne Plaza Liverpool John Lennon Airport Hotel. There is a large car park at the hotel.
Our conference will be in the Aerial Suite, a self contained level-access suite with natural daylight and its own hearing loop system. A special rate has been negotiated
for Friday dinner, bed and breakfast prior to the conference; for those travelling from a distance, or who just want to experience friendship, get away
from it all and ‘chill out’. Between sessions there will be ample time for friendly chat over a leisurely lunch in the Starways Restaurant. For those who
cannot survive without retail therapy there is a small shopping outlet opposite the hotel.
We do hope you will come to our one day conference, and look forward to seeing you all in Liverpool next May.
