Microfinancing

As a club we have joined Lend With Care to lend to 4 women to support them in their endeavours. We have lent to women in Vietnam, Thailand and Malawi where the loans will help with their farming, and to a woman in Ecuador to help with her sewing business.   We are very pleased with the effect of loaning £105, including 2 jobs created and 32 people helped. We will reinvest when these loans are repaid. Such an easy way to help women and their families. We have also joined the SIGBI group at Lend With Care so our contribution will be included with others in SIGBI, and the impact will be increased.

Our project ReCycle and Reuse began as a way to keep items out of the refuse system to help our Planet. We started collecting crisp packets which went to Macclesfield Crisp Blankets to be made into bags which sleeping bags can go into, keeping the occupants warm and dry. After promoting the project at various events, it grew quickly and we partnered with some local churches who collect on our behalf. Other items were added including coffee machine Pods which go for recycling through the PodBack scheme and soft plastics which are taken to local supermarkets. In relation to ReUse, this includes
