President’s message

Ann Gourlay
Club President
I have been a member of SI Perth since 2005 and feel it is a real privilege to be President for 2011/12.
Current membership within SI Perth includes a wealth of skills from health, social work, education, voluntary and private sector. Collectively the achievements of all of these individuals have allowed the club to become involved in many local and international projects supporting women and children. To date there has been local, national and international recognition for the Perth club’s many achievements.
My background as a Community Nurse and now Service Manager for Community Nursing and Specialist Palliative care mean that I am very interested in how communities work and function to support the local population. I have therefore chosen ‘Connecting Communities’ as my theme for this year where SI Perth club will seek to work in partnership with other organisations to facilitate a number of new additional local projects.
I look forward to a year where a new focus on Programme Action will allow us as a club to explore opportunities with local partners to be more involved in local issues whilst continuing to raise the profile of SI Perth and the principles of Soroptimism.
