President’s Message

Welcome to our Club which was started in Peterborough in 1950.

I have been a member of Soroptimist International Peterborough since 1993 and I am privileged to be President this year for the second time.  I was previously President in 1998-1999.

We are a small but very active Club. Our main charity this year is the Sue Ryder Care Hospice in Peterborough and we have already had an excellent talk from their Fundraising Manager, Mikey Clarke. We will be holding fundraising events for the Sue Ryder throughout the year including a beetle drive in October then a Burns Night in January 2012 and a quiz night in March 2012.

We also support other international and local charities and one of the most important aspects of our work is raising awareness of issues affecting women and girls.

If you live in the Peterborough area and would like to learn more about us or attend one of our events please contact us by using the contact form on the SIGBI website, mentioning SI Peterborough and my name.

In friendship

Janet Wells, President, SI Peterborough 2011-2012
