Poole Soroptimists welcomed guests to their 75 for 75 fund-raiser in response to SIGBI President Jackie’s Appeal to support of WaterAid projects in Bangladesh.
The evening opened with a presentation by Dorset WaterAid representative Peter Cadogan who explained how the lack of clean water and safe sanitation particularly affects women.
Guests then enjoyed a delicious buffet supper and a superb presentation by Sarah Aspinall, chief chocolate maker from Chococo, chocolatiers of Swanage. Sarah’s enthusiasm for her job, her company and chocolate was clear from her talk illustrated not along with images but with a superb selection of Chococo chocolates.
Two lucky guests won the 2 chocolate extravaganza draw prizes – a box of Chococo chocolates and a chocoholic’s hamper.
At the end of the evening, Incoming President Liz Rodgers presented a cheque for £400 to Dorset WaterAid on behalf of Poole Soroptimists and their guests.
