Poole Soroptimists supported the Soroptimist International Virtual 1club’s BeePlus Project. The honey bee population throughout the world is declining. The BeePlus Project is for first and middle schools and provides resources to teach children about bees, beekeeping, honey and the causes and consequences of the decline in the honeybee population, plus solutions. In Poole, BeePlus has been taken up by Broadstone First School where Year 3 pupils learnt about the importance of bees and beekeeping. The image here shows a spectacular visual presentation on display at the school. At a visit to the school, the childrens’ knowledge and enthusiasm were very much in evidence.
