SI Ramsbottom
RAMSBOTTOM (valley of the wild garlic) is a small market town in Greater Manchster, England.
March 1952 – SI Ramsbottom Chartered sponsored by SI Bury, who became our Mother Club.
February 2012 – Currently our club has 26 members of all ages, interests and diversity. We have social workers, teachers, receptionist, guider, magistrates, company directors, accountant and others involved in voluntary work.
The Business Meeting is held on the second Tuesday at Ramsbottom Cricket Club at 7.30.
The Speaker Meeting is on the fourth Tuesday at 7.45p.m. with a two course meal prior to the meeting at 6.30. The venue is the Red Hall Hotel.
Soroptimist International of Ramsbottom members work:

- for the empowerment of women through econ
omic independence and greater participation in decision making at all levels of society - with club, regional, national and international service projects.
We are a Global Voice for Women, striving, through Awareness, Advocacy & Action, for Human Rights for All, Equality, Development and Peace through International Goodwill and Understanding.
In 2011/2012 some of the organisations we supported:
- Margaret Haes Riding Centre for the Disabled.
- Paws for Kids
- Pendle & Rossendale Mountain Rescue
- Lancashire Wildlife Trust Rossendale & Bury Hospices
How do we do this:
- Within the club we provide support and friendship for all members.
- We serve the local community by supporting the hospice and other projects.

We join with other Soroptimist members to serve the larger communities at Region, National and International level.
