The final social event of the summer season was our annual charter lunch held at The Dining Room restaurant owned by Celebrity Chef Tony Tobin. Sixty three people attended and before the meal started Tony gave us an entertaining demonstration of how the meal was being prepared plus a few of the trade secrets. Edwina Currie Jones, the patron of Reigate and Banstead Women’s Aid, spoke of how SI Reigate was instrumental in the setting up of the Refuge for women and children escaping from domestic violence. A raffle was held and thanks to the diners purchasing so many tickets we raised £260 for the Refuge which is one of the President’s charities.
