About our Club
SI Southampton & District – Our Club
Welcome to our Club Website!
Our Club was chartered in October 1952. Currently we have 27 members from a varied cross section of backgrounds encompassing a good skill and professional mix of individuals.
We meet regularly throughout the year at Fleming Park, Eastleigh on 3rd Tuesday of every month at 6.45pm for 7.00pm. We start our meetings with Supper where we socialise, forge friendships and discuss issues. After a short break we either have a Business Meeting or a Speaker Meeting.
At the Business Meetings we discuss matters relating to Our Club or Region and International matters, which have been communicated to us by Federation. At these meetings we may invite one of our members to give a short talk about their special interest or job. This gives us an opportunity to learn more about each other.
We alternate Business meetings with Speaker Meetings, where we enjoy listening to a visiting speaker on varying topics of local, national or international interest.
Besides our meetings, we have 3 Project Groups, who meet in each other’s homes to work onvarious projects relating to PAC (Programme Action), Fundraising and Membership.
In addition to our structured programme we have social gatherings and celebrations throughout the year with our friends from within our club and those from our region.
If you are interested in becoming involved in our Club’s work by supporting the local community, investigating important issues, furthering international goodwill and understanding, share our Soroptimist Visions where we are committed to a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have equal voice in creating strong and peaceful communities worldwide, whilst broadening your circle of friends and contacts, we would be delighted to welcome you to one of our Supper Meetings.
