Soroptimist International is the world’s largest classified service organisation for women, working through service projects to advance human rights and the status of women.

What is Soroptimist International?
- A non-governmental organisation with direct access to the United Nations
- Over 3,000 clubs in more than 120 countries working together to make a difference
- Soroptimists are working women, artists, farmers, scientists, voluntary workers, accountants, of all ages, cultures and ethnic groups.
And you could be one of them ..
The local Soroptimist club is ‘St Albans and District’. It has a lively and diverse group of about 30 women members from St Albans and the surrounding areas including Harpenden, Redbourn, Watford and Hemel Hempstead. Charities supported by the the club include The St Albans & Hertsmere Women’s Refuge, Grove House and Home-Start St Albans - for more information click on Charities Supported by St Albans Soroptimists on the left of the screen. Throughout the year we arrange and challenge speakers on local and national issues, and participate in activities so that we are“women working together to make a difference”.
