Club members joined forces with the local St. Andrews Girl Guides unit to create story sacks with a jungle theme – the Guides wrote five short children’s stories about a number of wild animals such as giraffes, zebras, rhinos etc. Club member Anne Morris illustrated and printed these stories into little booklets and then club members and the Guides collected toys and props to go with the stories and made up sacks to put them all in and finally created two decorated boxes which each contained the five different story books along with the toys and props that went with them. It was decided to give the two boxes to Rachel House, the Children’s Hospice at Kinross and because there were two, they would send the second box over to their other Hospice in the West at Balfron. Presentation of the two boxes to a representative from Rachel House was made at the Scores Hotel on April 4th by both the Guides and club members.
