President Maudy McHardy

Maudy was born & raised in Malta, she came to the UK as a mere 17yr old as
an au pair to an RAF Service family.   She applied to do general nurse training here and eventually stayed, she met Russ very early on & the rest is history!

She completed her SRN, worked for a year as a Staff Nurse, then trained in 
Psychiatric Nursing, worked for 6 months as Staff Nurse then worked for  10 years in Accident & Emergency, where she utilised both general & psychiatric nursing.  Maudy then worked as a Sister in a multi specialty purpose built private ward within a general hospital. Meantime she worked for a nursing agency and acquired a taste for occupational health nursing (formerly known as Industrial nursing), she specialised in that area whilst working for the Military as a Civil servant.   She worked at various Military medical centres for 10 yrs before returning to the NHS as a Lead Occupational Health Nurse Specialist for the South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust.

Russ & Maudy have two sons-Alistair 27 yrs old (currently on a Graduate
programme for a defence company down in Wells) and Stuart 23 yrs old
(just qualified as a doctor up in Sheffield).

Hobbies-mainly travel to unusual parts of the world & cycling plus many
other interests!

She has been a Soroptimist since 2003, shared the Programme
Officer post with Judith and Jan a couple of years ago and is now President.
