President’s Message

 My name is Ann Middleton and I am proud to have been elected President of Soroptimist International – Stourbridge for the coming year.

 

Clubs are very much like houses. They may look very similar from the outside but it is what is inside that matters. The support, love and caring is what makes a house a home and Soroptimist International – Stourbridge is a great club to belong to.

 

My first visit to Stourbridge club was to a dinner meeting and, by the end of the evening, I knew that I wanted to become a Soroptimist. The room was full of like-minded women discussing various projects under the Programme Action umbrella. What particularly impressed me was that Soroptimists ‘walk the talk’, have lobbying power and a global network.

 

I look forward to the year ahead representing our members. I would urge any woman who is concerned that so many women are still denied their basic human rights in the world today to join a Soroptimist club. We need to work together – that way we can make a difference.
