About our Club
We are a friendly group of working, or previously working, women. We enjoy meals together usually with a speaker. We have outings to places of interest. Our principle activity is what we call Programme Action which involves us in “Awareness, Advocacy and Action” see the UK Programme Action website: www. soroptimist-ukpac.org We are committed to a world where women and girls can achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong peaceful communities worldwide. We work for change through direct involvement in local, national and international projects.
We come from various backgrounds. Some of us work full time, some part time and some as volunteers. We welcome new members of any age race or creed who have a social conscience and feel they want to ‘give something back’
Although based in Swindon we also have members who come from Wootton Bassett, Marlborough, Market Lavington, Devizes , Purton, Blunsdon, Wroughton and Faringdon.
Our Club started life in 1960 and we celebrated our 50th anniversay in 2010. Contact us to find out more : jhlking@aol.com
